Haddonfield

From the Inn, it's a lovely stroll to our downtown historic district (4-5 blocks), named one of the "best shopping places outside NYC" by The New York Times. There are over 200 unique shops and restaurants, some with outdoor seating. Architectural walking tours, carriage rides and many special events take place throughout the year. A bronze and stone sculpture in the center of town commemorates the discovery of the Hadrosaurus foulkii, the first nearly-complete dinosaur skeleton ever found. This discovery made Haddonfield famous as the place where dinosaur paleontology became a credible modern science.
The Indian King Museum on King's Highway is where New Jersey became a state and was originally the Indian King Tavern, owned by the uncle of First Lady Dolley Madison. Greenfield Hall, home of the Haddonfield Historical Society, is also open to the public.
Our guests enjoy theatrical performances by the Haddonfield Plays and Players and concerts performed by the Haddonfield Symphony Orchestra. If there's something in particular that you enjoy, ask our innkeepers - we'll help you find it!

Regattas on the Cooper River are a wonderful way to spend a day or two by the water, enjoying sports competition at its finest.
The Delaware River waterfront in nearby Camden is a destination with cultural attractions, history and entertainment in one convenient location. The Adventure Aquarium provides an exploration of undersea life, from swimming with the sharks to shows by resident penguins, seals and hippos. The Battleship New Jersey offers an unusual opportunity to tour the nation's most-decorated battleship, now a floating museum. The BB&T Pavilion provides live entertainment of all kinds year-round. It becomes an outdoor amphitheater in the summer and is fully enclosed in the fall and winter. Experience moving performances and eclectic exhibits at Rutgers Camden Center for the Arts and free concerts at Wiggins Park.
