The River Link Ferry launches its 2010 season with a “Kids Ride Free Promotion” this weekend. From Noon until 6 p.m. the ferry will offer a FREE ride to children ages 12 years and younger with each paid adult ticket purchase. As an added bonus  The Battleship New Jersey, Camden Riversharks, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing, Adventure Aquarium, Independence Seaport Museum, Campbell’s Soup and the Camden Children’s Garden will be taking part in the fun greeting passengers and distributing goodies during the afternoon. Bonus: It’s always cooler by the water! The ferry’s first departure from Camden is at 9:30 a.m. and Philadelphia at 10 a.m. The last ferry of the day will leave Camden at 6:30 p.m. and Penn’s Landing at 7 p.m.

The Battleship New Jersey also launches its summer hours today.  Tours start at 9:30am and the last tour departs at 5pm. We took an unforgettable guided tour several years ago and we are ready to go again! They are constantly expanding and improving these tours. Many volunteers, particularly naval retirees, make it very special. This is a great way for everyone, especially children to learn history in a “hands-on”experience.
